Sky Original - Deadshot

Released on Sky Cinema, this 2023 British action thriller follows a retired Irish paramilitary who witnesses the brutal shooting of his pregnant wife by a British soldier. Left wounded and presumed dead, he escapes to London, where he meticulously plots his revenge.

With only the key art as inspiration, I set out to bring a dynamic edge to the graphic. After analyzing the trailer, I identified two striking visual elements—gunshots and shattered glass—that encapsulated the film’s tension and intensity. By incorporating these into the animation, I aimed to enhance the drama and action while staying true to the film’s tone.

To tie it all together, I used the Sky Glass wipe transition, a signature element for Sky Original content, to seamlessly shift from the credits to the key art. I applied an old paper effect to the campaign’s yellow background to enhance the atmosphere, reflecting the gritty aesthetic of the 1970s. Near the end, I introduced a broken glass effect, complete with a crack sound, paired up with the bright, sharp transition of a gunshot sound—snapping the viewer back to the credits, reinforcing the film’s raw energy and suspense.
