Sky Original - A Town Called Malice

Released on Sky Max in March 2023, A Town Called Malice is a British crime thriller set in the 1980s, following the Lord family and their criminal exploits. After a near-death gangland battle, the youngest member of the family flees to Costa del Sol, only to find himself entangled in the local underworld. As the rest of the family arrives, tensions rise as they attempt to reclaim their position at the top of the criminal food chain.

To match the show's retro setting, I aimed to create a vintage aesthetic while embracing the gangster energy promised by the storyline. I incorporated elements like gunshots, old TV scan lines, and flickering neon lights to capture the essence of the era. I focused on the characters, with gunshot holes appearing one by one near the Sky Max logo, reinforcing the action-packed theme, while the title art features a flickering neon effect, adding a final touch of stylized nostalgia.
